“Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.”
~Norman Vincent PealePINIMAGEPINIMAGEOur Christmas traditions begin on the first week of December when we go to cut down our Christmas tree. We all decide which tree is the “perfect Denis tree” and then the boys help Papa cut and carry it back to our car. As soon as we are home we start decorating it while Elf, the movie, plays in the background. I love that we are creating traditions that will be engraved in my children’s lives. Another traditon I love is that every year we all get to pick out a new ornament for our tree. The boys are always so excited for this tradition! This year we welcomed Hootie and Velvin.PINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGESo many packages come in the mail this month! It’s so exciting to find out what our mailman has for us each day!PINIMAGEI love how there is so much bokeh to play with all month long.PINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEFritz also joins our family on December 1st. He is our elf on the shelf that helps the boys continue to stay in the Christmas spirit by bringing them fun Christmas activities and reminding them about the reason for the season. Sometimes these boys need a gentle reminder about being nice to one another.PINIMAGEThis December has been very rainy and dreary and we have not seen much sun but on one of these dreary days, the sun made an appearance. I was working in the basement and when I came upstairs I was amazed by the hue of purples and pinks lighting up my living room. When I looked at the sky I literally gasped out loud. I immediately raced back downstairs to scoop up Myles and we went outside and found the closest open sky I could find. I caught this gorgeous sunset just in the nick of time. PINIMAGESince the first day that I started putting up Christmas decorations Paxton has been begging me to make a gingerbread house! This is another tradition that I just love! I remember being a little girl and always looking forward to this tradition in my home and I’m so happy that I can continue this tradition with my boys. Paxton was just giddy when Fritz brought him this gingerbread house for him to decorate! I enjoyed capturing it!PINIMAGEThis moment, this is the moment I look for every year. That wonder and joy that only Santa can bring to him. Every year Santa sends the boys a video message to tell them how proud he is of their good behaviour and to remind them of what they need to work on. The boys love that Santa knows them and he sends them messages, I love that look on their faces it brings a tear to my eye every time!PINIMAGEThis picture is pure magic! I had a vision in my head when I took this picture! This was taken on Christmas eve, the boys had just gotten into their new jammies and I asked them to check out all of our new ornaments on the tree. I set up my camera and then this happened! Oh my mamma heart! It just swelled with so much joy and love for these boys! This picture will now go up every year! I just love it so so so much!PINIMAGEAnd of course, we had a lot of normal {unscripted} moments as well.PINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGE
